The return of the king

2 Samuel 19:8b-40

Focussing on David, God's king over God's people, we think about Judah bringing back the king, Shimei seeking the forgiveness of the king, Mephibosheth affirming loyalty to the king, and Barzilllai enjoying the gratitude of the king. At each point our thoughts turn to Jesus, God's king over God's people in the highest sense of all.
