"Father, the hour has come"

John 17:1

There are a number of things that we can say about this hour that has come for Jesus: it was the hour appointed for him, the hour of his climactic sufferings, the hour he is determined to face, the hour of his apparent defeat, the hour of his greatest triumph, and the hour for departing out of this world to the Father.
