A picture of Jesus

Leviticus 16:20-22

On the Jewish Day of Atonement the sins of the people were laid on a live goat (or scapegoat) and then, bearing these sins, it was led away to a solitary place. It is a picture of Jesus. Our sins were laid on him. And in his experience of God-forsakenness he too found himself alone.
