David's kindness to Hanun was a kindness that was sincere, that was greeted with suspicion, and that was spurned with contempt. The rejection of it brought disaster. There is a challenge in this to show genuine love, to wage war on suspiciousness, and to not refuse the offer of salvation in Christ.
